Steven C. Glass Named Next CEO and Chairman of Medical Mutual

Current Cleveland Clinic CFO assumes role August 1, 2022

CLEVELAND, May 19, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Bob King, Senior Director of the Board of Medical Mutual, today announced that Steven (Steve) C. Glass will succeed Rick Chiricosta as CEO and Chairman of Medical Mutual of Ohio. Mr. Glass will also serve on the board of directors of Medical Mutual.

Mr. Glass is a long-time Clevelander and a very experienced healthcare executive. He joined the Cleveland Clinic in 2002 and was named the organization’s chief financial officer in 2005. In this role, Mr. Glass was responsible for the overall financial operations of the Cleveland Clinic and its subsidiaries worldwide. Prior to the Cleveland Clinic, he was Vice President of Finance for MedStar Health, a major healthcare delivery system in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Mr. Glass will officially take over as CEO and President of Medical Mutual on August 1, 2022. Mr. Chiricosta will remain until the end of 2022 to assist Mr. Glass in the transition.

Mr. Glass holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Towson University in Maryland and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the Health Management Academy, and is currently Chairman of the Board of the Ohio Hospital Association. .

He and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Rocky River with their three children.
