Medical Mutual Holdings, Inc. changes its name to Curi, a new name and brand that the company says better reflects its mission to help physicians in medicine, in business and in their personal lives.
“The Curi name captures the constant curiosity the company has had since its inception – a curiosity to continually seek new ways to meet the ever-changing needs of physicians,” the company said in a statement.
The company was started by doctors as the Medical Mutual Insurance Company of North Carolina in 1975, when other carriers stopped offering malpractice insurance to doctors in North Carolina. Since then, the company’s insurance offerings have expanded to 46 states and the District of Columbia, with customer concentrations in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.
A mutual company owned by physicians, Curi has also extended its offerings beyond medical malpractice insurance to a variety of services for physicians and medical practices, including wealth management and other services. financial, health policy advice and wellness programs.
“Our old name hadn’t accurately reflected everything we do in quite some time, and in fact it had become more and more restrictive as we expanded our offerings and geographies,” said Tony Vance. , Commercial Director of Curi. “Curi will allow us to continue to grow and evolve. “
In addition to the new name, the company’s new branding includes a new logo and the launch of three new websites: Curi.com, Curi Practice Services and Curi Capital, all of which represent a more streamlined experience for visitors, members and clients.
