Details
The pioneering lighting designer Poul Henningsen drew from scientific principles to create beautiful multi-shade lighting that offers glare-free, softly diffused light. Glossy on top and sandblasted matte on the underside, the three handblown opal-glass shades in Poul Henningsen’s PH 2/1 Wall Lamp (1925) reflect light downward, with an ambient glow. With an angled chromed metal arm, the lamps are ideal flanking a bed, next to a reading chair, or in a hallway. The 2/1 is a “hybrid model,” a smaller footprint designed for mounting closer to where the light is desired. Accommodates an E12 LED bulb (not included). Made in Denmark.

Poul Henningsen
Trained as an architect, Poul Henningsen is best known for a series of lighting fixtures that resulted from his fascination with the then-new technology of the electric light bulb. In 1925, one of these fixtures won first prize for lighting at the International Exposition of Decorative Arts in Paris. The next year it was put into production by Louis Poulsen & Co.
