Details
The pioneering lighting designer Poul Henningsen drew from scientific principles to create beautiful multi-shade lighting that offers glare-free, softly diffused light. The PH 5/5 Pendant, which he designed in 1925 for Louis Poulsen, casts a subtle glow from three tiered shades in a 3:2:1 proportion. A black metal top shade with a white interior and either handblown white opal glass or minimalist black aluminum shades below it reflect and diffuse the light. Considered a “whole size pendant” by Louis Poulsen, the 5/5 is designed for higher mounting where it can fully disperse its light and create a welcoming ambience. Includes a 12’ cord and accommodates an E26 LED bulb (not included). Made in Denmark.

Poul Henningsen
Trained as an architect, Poul Henningsen is best known for a series of lighting fixtures that resulted from his fascination with the then-new technology of the electric light bulb. In 1925, one of these fixtures won first prize for lighting at the International Exposition of Decorative Arts in Paris. The next year it was put into production by Louis Poulsen & Co.
